World Obesity Day Europe Awards for 2025

OBEClust receives award for its dissemination and collaboration activities

The European Cluster of Obesity Research Projects (OBEClust) has recently received an award recognising its outstanding efforts in scientific communication and dissemination.

OBEClust is a pan-European initiative that brings together nine EU-funded research projects focused on advancing knowledge and solutions to prevent and address obesity. By fostering collaboration between research consortia, the cluster aims to increase the collective impact of European research in this field.

Through coordinated activities such as joint publications, webinars, policy discussions, and communication initiatives, OBEClust promotes knowledge exchange and strengthens collaboration across projects working on different aspects of obesity prevention, early detection, and intervention.

One of the recent initiatives organised by the cluster was a webinar exploring obesity as a chronic, multifactorial disease, which gathered more than 150 participants from across the research and healthcare communities.

The eprObes project actively contributes to the cluster’s activities, supporting collaborative dissemination actions and helping to share research insights with both the scientific community and wider stakeholders.

The recognition received by OBEClust highlights the importance of collaborative communication strategies in European research projects and demonstrates how coordinated dissemination can enhance the visibility, reach, and societal impact of research addressing major public health challenges such as obesity.
